Dancers should be able to dance the down hold basic, up hold basic, come-around, toss-out, lollies, and in-and-outs.

Dancers should feel at ease dancing to songs such as: My Blue Heaven - Artie Shaw

  • This class is for experienced Balboa dancers who have been dancing Balboa regularly for a few years. Balboa dancers should be able to smoothly dance to songs between 190 - 230 bpm and want to be challenged.

Dancers should easily be able to do the down hold basic, up hold basic, come-around, toss-out, lollies, and in-and-outs. This class will help you build your vocabulary and add style and variations to the dance.

Dancers should feel at ease dancing to songs such as: Jamaica Jam - Teddy Powell Orchestra

  • Slow Balboa is all about grace, connection, and musicality. It's a beautiful and expressive dance style that will take your Balboa skills to a whole new level. Whether you're new to Slow Bal or looking to refine your technique, our dedicated instructors are here to guide you through this mesmerizing dance form

Slow Balboa is danced to slow music usually under 100 bpm, which allows more time for intricate footwork and variations.

Example of Slow Balboa music: Dream A Little Dream Of Me - Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong

  • A Mix and Match competition is a social dance competition where leaders and followers are randomly paired together.

You do not need to bring a partner, and can choose whether you want to enter the competition as a leader or follower, regardless of your gender.

Competitors will sign up individually as a lead or follow and will randomly draw partners for each round of this competition.

    Everyone is welcome to compete.

  • This competition is open to all Swing Dances including Balboa, Lindy Hop, Charleston and Shag! It's the ultimate cardio workout disguised as a dance, where your feet become a blur of fancy footwork. Competing couples choose their own partner and enter as a couple. It is meant to be fun & to show off how well you can lead & follow under increasingly fast music.
No choreography is allowed and the dance should be spontaneous lead and follow style.
The competitors will not know the music they are dancing to and the music will be randomly selected by the DJ.

  • Slow Bal Competitionis an elegant and sophisticated showcase of the Balboa dance style, focusing on the smooth, graceful movements that define this slower tempo variation. Unlike the rapid footwork of fast Balboa, Slow Bal emphasizes control, precision, and connection between partners.
Entry is Free! All are welcome! No sign up required!
